Catori trekked up a small hill, her paws padding rhythmically underneath her. The signs of spring just beginning were all around her; birds were chirping, butterflies were dancing in the air before her, and the morning sun was gently warming the fur on her back. The best part of spring however, in her opinion, was the satisfaction of having a full stomach, especially after a hard winter. Her pack did not suffer over the winter, but there certainly wasn't an abundance of food. She had grown a little skinny over the last season, but it wouldn't be long before she thickened up once again.
Once at the top of the hill, Tori lowered herself onto her stomach to admire the view. Though not an especially large hill, this was the tallest one in the meadows and allowed her a beautiful view of the softly rolling hills beneath her. Her ears were perked up, listening to all the sounds nature brought to this season. A variety of smells came to her, including that of a deer with her fawn in the trees to her left. She briefly considered hunting, but she was not good at hunting singularly. She was better in groups of two or more. Besides that, she was not here to hunt, but merely to observe and enjoy.
» Ynk was trying to dry off after jumping in the river that ran through the territory. He had tried to catch some fish but was unsuccessful and in the end he decided to have a bit of fun and splashed around for awhile before he thought it was time to get out and go find himself something else to hunt.
The scarred face of the thick male was possibly the most wet thing on his body after having ducked his head under water multiple times to try and get a fish. His legs as well were soaking wet. He would dry off in time, as long as he found the perfect spot to bask for a bit. He then thought of a place... The meadows.
Ynk started to pick up his pace as he headed towards the meadows to try and bask on whatever hill he could find. The water had been so cold and his thick coat hadn't been enough to protect him and warm him up. He, like most of the pack members, had gotten a bit thin over the winter, but nothing too noticeable considering his thick coat covered up any evidence of the weight loss.
The thick male eventually made it to a clearing and he felt the suns rays hit him and immediately begin to warm him up. It felt amazing and he decided he'd laid there in that exact spot he was standing just to dry and warm up. He hadn't noticed the presence of his fellow Alpha yet, but then again, he hadn't even walked out to a more clear area to see her on a hill.
Catori stayed where she was for several long moments without stirring, her eyes closed, just listening to the sounds around her. She didn't have the slightest inkling that she wasn't alone; she was completely relaxed, and had let her guard down. After keeping her head up for several moments, she lowered her neck and placed her head on her paws. She could have been asleep, for all that another could tell. And perhaps she did doze off once or twice, with her full stomach from this mornings meal and the sun warming the fur on her back. Her position was entirely too comfortable, and she could not help but to smile softly.
She wanted to enjoy as much peace as she could; more than a few times, other wolves have been scented on their territory. She knew that soon things would be changing in the lands, and she dreaded any bloodshed that she feared was coming. So, she reasoned with herself, why not, in this one instance, relax and attempt to be worry free? A breeze picked up, ruffling the thick fur in her tail and chest, bringing with it the scent of wildflowers.
» Ynk remained where he had laid down to sun bathe. He didn't move for quite awhile until he only felt that his fur was a tad bit damp. He accepted the dampness and he soon stood up and shoot his thick coat out a bit before surveying his surroundings. A breeze hit him in the face and with it came the smell of wildflowers and a wolf... His ears swiveled to face forward and they stood tall on his head. His black nose twitched quite a few times as he closely examined the scent of the wolf and he quickly put a face and name to what he smelled. Catori.
The males tail immediately began to wag gently and he stepped forward as he started the search for his fellow Alpha. It didn't take long either before he stumbled upon his good friend on a hill. He paused in his steps and he he smiled softly when he saw her laying there and looking so relaxed. "You awake Tori?" Ynk asked softly as he walked to stand in front of her and he lowered his head near her face. He sniffed her gently, keeping his nose a comfortable distance away though from her face while he did this and he continued to wag his tail.
